Doing my own clutch install for the first time, and I just finished putting the transmission back in place. I decided to put the passenger side downpipe on beforehand though. Little did I think about it but, the starter was quite a squeeze to install with the downpipe there. So, I decided to just put it back on without the heat shield. I have a couple questions....will it be ok installed without the shield OR should I find some heat shield wrap? If I wrap it, should I wrap the downpipe with heat shield in that area or should I wrap the starter? Last resort option is unbolting the downpipe again. I don't even think it would fit with the 3" downpipe there....it would scrape it.
I am kinda thinking I should wrap the starter so it will also keep water and debris off of it.
What do you guys think? Thanks for your help!
